It shall discuss the fact that the US is expenditure unnecessarily for matters and items which can actually be discarded as government expenses. This paper is being carried out in gear up to establish an argumentative and luculent conclusion to the thesis, setting forth a scholarly and detailed approach to the resolution of the issue raised. The US government has a significant amount of unnecessary expenses which waste the taxpayers money. President Barack Obama himself has acknowledged the fact that 0.004 of 1 percent of the federal budget as wasteful and proposed eliminating this $140 million from his $3.6 trillion fiscal stratum 2010 budget request (Riedl, p. 1). such waste in government spending is significantly impacting on the areas where actual and ess ential spending is needed and where deficiencies are impacting on the quality of government services. There are different kinds of waste seen in government spending, and many of them were specified and detailed by Senator Tom Coburn in his 2010 line entitled Wastebook. Some of these unnecessary expenses shall be discussed below. ... This is an unfortunate circumstance considering the fact that thousands of American troops injured in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars are set to return to the US requiring medical and other support services (Winter). There are about 5,000 buildings owned by the Department of Veterans Affairs, but about 300 of these are idle and dilapidated. And yet, much money is being allocated for their upkeep and no lucrative or beneficial remedies are being implemented as yet by the government to address this issue. Coburn also discusses how the government is wasting about $1.5 million in sprucing apartments before tearing them down. This practice is seen in Shrevepor t, LA (p. 4). Coburn (p. 4) reports how the urban center of Shreveport, Louisiana washed-out $1.5 million of stimulus funds to fix moldy houses which were already considered for demolition. The housing authority set forth that it would use stimulus money in order to improve various low-income homes. After an audit, the authorities established that the city has not spent the money allocated to it this was against the regulations set forth by the stimulus which required the city to spend the allocated money within a year. In order to comply with such mandate, the officials implemented mold remediation for the housing units (Coburn, p. 4). An evaluation established tho that the remediation was not done properly subsequently, the demolition of the buildings was implemented. Waste in government spending is also apparent with various agencies making unnecessary picture. Such unnecessary printing amounts to $930 million annual cost (Coburn, p. 5). Based on a report by Lexmark (p. 3), t here are about $440 million printing savings

Carnavelis Decision Making Model Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3000 words
Carnavelis Decision Making Model - Essay ExampleThe effectiveness of a nurses role is achieved through the sound judgement of the social, physical, mental, and spiritual and wellness itemors which define the call for of the patient. This paper is based on a clinical contingency study where the roles of nurses in assessment of the patient and related factors and decisiveness make and practice are discussed. The discussion is based on Carnevalis model of clinical judgment and closing making which evaluated in terms of its effectiveness and impact on the execution of nursing roles in patient assessment and decision making. The assessment of Jacks physical, social, mental, spiritual and health care needs will be based on an integration of critical thinking and manifestation. Wolf (2012, p. 20) explains that the skill of a nurse to identify the needs of the patient during the assessment handle is effectively achieved through keen observation and application of higher cognitive pr ocesses of thought. Kearney and Penque (2012, p. 32) summarizes that the effective and ethical standards of nursing and evidence based practice should also be included in trying to identify the needs of the patient. In Jacks case, his symptoms are used to assess his health care needs. For example his dehydration is identified through the nurses observation. This leads to a critical thinking process through which the nurse will make a decision of the nursing intervention and therapy which is applicable for his condition. The significance of Carnevalis model of clinical judgment and decision making is disclosed in this case because effectiveness in assessment of the health care needs of the patient would only be achieved through observation of his symptoms. Carnivals model presents the first stage of diagnostic reasoning process as the collection of information and data on the patient and the family (Carnevali, 2003, p. 45). Aitken, Marshall, Elliott and McKinley (2009, p. 38), add that the roles of nurses in patient diagnosis are guided by collection of patient data on the social and cultural aspects and applying them in the prescription of relevant intervention and therapy. Jack for example is affected by social factors such as lack of appropriate support and care from the parents. This is disclosed by the fact that the parents want to leave him in the hospital with a neighbor. Nonetheless, critical thinking and prioritization must be applied in nursing care to ensure that the health care needs of the patient are provided before further assessment achieved. Jacks dehydration and weakness requires immediate nursing intervention thus far before a complete analysis of all factors surrounding his condition are ascertained. Huiqin and Thompson (2010, p. 2752) points out that nurses play a critical role in face-off the needs of patients for care with due consideration of the standards of care and maintenance of high standards in practice. However Carnevalis mod el of clinical judgment and decision making fails to show emphasis on the role of ethical and evidence based nursing practice. In accordance to Carnavelis model of clinical judgment and decision making, the second stage in diagnostic reasoning process is entry into the patient assessment (Carnevali, 2003, p. 45). This includes priority setting. Jacks health care needs are prioritized by the nurse because of his weak condition and continuous crying. This is the reason why the nurse must prioritize the health care needs of the patient. Sutcliffe (2011, p. 35) emphasizes that the care for and

The answer is that whether or not we realize it, we solely use nonverbal means of communication. This essay is going to focus on those communication methods. In a scene in the film when psychic trauma proposes to Matlins character that he teach her verbal communication, there is more being conveyed than personal interests there is personal attraction. Matlins character is flirtatious, and her facial expressions, even when she challenges Hurts characters signing proficiency, ends with a flirtatious look, a raised eyebrow, and a tilt of her head. Our bodies dont exist to carry our heads around, we be reminded by Dr. Candace Pert, author of Molecules of Emotions (1997), and research professor in biophysics and physiology at the prestigious Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Rather, thinking process is not just a function of the brain, moreover of the entire body suggests Pert (Weiss, 2001). The brain, which has hundreds of thousands of protein neurons, is constantly processing information, and as it does, the neurons actually vibrate and change in shape (2001).The brain is as interconnected with the physiological and emotional system of the body as argon the sensory perceptions of sight, sound, smell and taste which we be closer to in our everyday thinking and understanding than we are to the brain. However, as Pert says, the brain and heart are tied into every function, every expression, every action that we make and think, and it has a long memory and its memories are triggered throughout the course of a day without our being aware of it on a conscious level. We see this throughout the film Children

In this line, Hamer states that the worlds global energy needs will be largely dependent on the rehearse of solar devices to harness light and heat from the sun for the generation of electricity via photovoltaic cells, owing to the declining prices of solar collectors. This reason is as well as largely supported by the sunny forecasts put on solar energy and a resemblance of the electricity system to the internet, having no particular center of activity, except for the photovoltaics integrated into roofs and windows.Consequently, Hamer states that at that place is an increase in th e production, but, a subsequent decline in purchasing costs of PVs hence, likely to have a significant impact on the knowledgeability of PVs and access to electricity. This would then classify solar energy for the many uses that electricity can be put to such as heating of water. PVs are also environmentally friendly as they produce no greenhouse gases or atmospheric emissions as a technology. Therefore, it presents itself as the most likely choice of renewable energy technology for embracing by the public (Hamer 1).Finally, a proposal for zero net energy buildings is given in which the Department of Energy is considering producing houses that consume no energy on net rate, but, incorporate numerous technologies for future homes, including the solar thermal and photovoltaics. In this article, the core theme as presented by Haugen is that of the stiff production of electricity through solar energy. Inventory System Essay Example for Free
Inventory System EssayWith our fast-paced developing society, many of our institutions optimise to perform their procedures in a computerized manner. They consider this as a great reliable process to lean on. They believe that this method impart help them catch-up with this fast(a) changing situations that they encounter each day. However, it is hard to imagine that many of us still stick to the manual method knowing that computerized schema is just at that place waiting for them to take advantage of. There are several reasons that are forcing them to be stuck with to this traditional system. One of these is illiteracy no ace in this origination is unable to understand and adapt to the computerized system if it will be properly introduced and taught. Another whizz is being doubtful with the system they believe that manual system peck perform less error than an automated system. But as the years goes by, a number of certain plays exhaust grown indicating that the manua l method is not practical and efficient anymore. Nowadays, people nurse become more conscious with their time and they find essential centerings on how they can do such work in less time or how they can do their number of works at the same time. This study is aimed at developing a computerized system for a barangay that still practices a traditional way of creating a Barangay head and management of database. We will do this by incorporating the technology of utilize camera and stylus pen for creating a Barangay Clearance. We will also use the computer to properly manage their files. By using our system, their barangay employees can allow fast, more practical and efficient way of doing their tasks. This chapter will provide an overview of the study, present general and specific objectives, state the scope and limitations, and give its significance. Background of the StudyBarangay Molino VI was formed by regulator Juanito Remulla, it was hence only the Soldiers Hills IV Subdivisio n, which was comprised of four (4) phases. The first appointed Barangay Chairman was Mr. Reu Lucio Samaco. He was appointed by then Governor Juanito Remulla. The first Sangguniang Barangay Officials were the Homeowners Association Officers of the four phases of the Subdivision. The legality of the appointment of Mr. Reu Lucio Samaco was questionable at that time, since he was in active service in the military consequently mayor Victor Miranda then appointed Mr. Tarsicio Dalman and assumed the office of the Barangay Chairman. After two years of assuming as interim Barangay Official, a Barangay Election was held in 1994. Thus, Mr. Tarsicio Dalman ran for the set of a Barangay Chairman and won. Together with his Barangay Kagawad officials who also won were Antero Anero, Wilfredo Arjinal, Mario Cruz, Joey Eslao, Jose Virrey, Remedios Prospero and Amante Isla. They were the first elected Sangguniang Barangay Council. The first elected Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman was Amil Rasuman and th e Appointed Secretary was Gloria Galve and likewise the Barangay Treasurer was Evelyn Soriano. In 1997, another Barangay Election was held, another victory again for Mr. Tarsicio Dalman as Barangay Chairman. He served the Barangay Molino VI until his untimely death December in 2000. The first elected Kagawad then assumed the Barangay Chairmanship was Ms. Remedios Prospero. It was in the term of Kapitana Remy, as she was fondly called by her constituents that Barangay Molino VI ballooned in terms of population, housing, and small job.As of now, Barangay Molino VI is composed of four Subdivisions the Soldiers Hills IV Subdivision which comprises of four phases, BF el Grande Homes II, BF Topman Homes II, and Woodwinds Village with a total population of 17,000. We have also identified depressed areas which are located around the edge of the subdivision, named as Maralit Compound, ARC Compound, the Creekside, Manggahan Alonzo Area, the Block 16 Hicban Area and Block 12 Barracks. The dom inant religion in this barangay is the Roman Catholic which is about fifty percent, the Iglesia Ni Cristo about 25 percent and the remaining percentage is divided among the Protestants, Jehovah Witnesses, and Islam respectively. The researcher of this study proposed a system named Design and Development of a Computerized Barangay Clearance with Information System for Barangay Molino VI that will help the barangay constituents. To properly manage their files in a computerized manner create a process of Barangay Clearance get down in a more efficient way. This system will be helpful for the maintaining, searching, and storing of records of those residents that have past incident reports. This will help barangay employees to do their work in a faster and more reliable process.Theoretical FrameworkAs Carlos Richard A. Bawalan, Edgar C. Miguel, Ma. Carmela M. Reyes and John Frederick Sia Sy stated in their study entitled Faculty bring in DeviceNowadays, we are dependent on computers fr om simple to complicated computation, from small to big business and many more. Computers are here to stay and will have-to doe with to increase its influence in the lives of many people, throughout the future. Different transactions are made easy through a computer companies which are using computers especially to their databases. Companies believe that through computerization, they save time and effort and they are sure that their work is accurate and reliable. As new programming languages have developed, features have been added that let programmers express ideas that are more remote from simple translation into underlying hardware instructions. Because programmers are less tied to the complexity of the computer, their programs can do more computing with less effort from the programmer. The process of preparing programs for a digital computer is especially attractive, not only because it can be economically and scientifically rewarding, tho also because it can be an aesthetic ex perience. -Donald KnuthHowever, testing by itself does not purify package quality. Test results are indicators of quality, but in and of themselves, they dont improve it. Try to improve software quality by increasing the amount of testing the software development techniques you use determine how many errors testing will find. If you want to improve your software, dont test more develop better.A program is never less than 90% complete, and never more than 95% complete. Terry bread makerLastly, computerized systems are not really perfect or we can say that a perfect computerized system does not exist. We have chosen this as one of our principles because we cannot prevent criticisms from the users of our system especially those with people who are not really knowledgeable about the capabilities or limited capabilities of a computerized system. We can promise them improvement, but not absolute perfection. If we think across so many different scenarios, the way they were typically done a few years ago and the way they will typically be done a few years from now, it will show a dramatic change We are developing software thats in the car, in the phone, of course in the PC, the set-up box, the watch. All the places where software can run, we want to make sure that we do the best we can to make that connect up and to make it seamless. Bill GatesAs emphasized by Bill Gates, the owner and founder of Microsoft Network, we have a need for computerization to be able to compete with other countries and demonstrate their potential when it comes to globalization. Aside from most of the possible gadgets to be automated, Mr. Gates envisions greater means in enhancing ones chance in becoming successful. Truly, this experienced entrepreneur and Information Technology magnate has the ideologies of the best chances and ways in achieving the betterment of different business industries. With the renewed business confidence, we intend to promote the country as the e-service hub of As ia and seize the I.T.s potent opportunity for produce and development. The government and the private sector have developed the electronic commerce action agenda or ISP.com to achieve this objective. The ISP.com is a comprehensive strategy to develop an environment conducive for the investment in, and growth of E-commerce. The plan identifies a focus market where Filipino companies can concentrate to maximize inherent advantages of the countrys human resource Gloria Macapagal-ArroyoObviously, the former president wants the Filipinos to realize that it is never too late to discover and learn the possible advantages that we can gain from adopting Information Technology (I.T.) for various businesses. To be sure, great purpose can take place if the country will just communicate and seek the assistance of people who are knowledgeable when it comes to enhancing I.T possibilities. Definitely, our country needs to light up up and see the great possibilities I.T. can bring, once it is be ing employed.
